More fun times with Dad.

After getting my car fixed, and returning our rental, we were off to Portland to show Dad some of the best architecture at OHSU and then riding the aerial tram. 

Afterwards we tried, to go to a sushi place down at the Willamette Riverside, but it was closed between lunch and dinner.

We drove around a little, tried a second place, but it was a shack and not what we wanted.

Then we ended up on Powell and having been there, I knew of a place with good food, outdoor seating (though we sat inside) and other cool things, such as Books With Pictures (where we did not go) and the Ford Building with its art galleries (but it was closed).

More fun days with the Big Guy!

I took a "Blog Vacation" in 2021 from August 31st to October 14th. I did not stop posting daily; I just put the blog in a low power rotation and mostly kept it off social media. Like that vacation, for this second blog vacation now in 2022, I am alternating between reprints, shares with little to no commentary, and THAT ONE THING, which is an image from the folder with a few thoughts scribbled along with it. I am alternating these three modes as long as the vacation lasts (not sure how long), pre-publishing the posts, and not always pushing them to social media.

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.

Only two pictures today because we had to take my car to the shop and get a rental. My car had a loose spark plug wire, and so it was fixed FREE OF CHARGE.

I needed some good news for once.

I was VERY proud to show Dad around where I worked, and I bought him an LCC hat as part of his birthday presents, which also included cheese and a book.

I am smiling so much because I was so happy to show the Big Guy where I work and how much I love working at Lower Columbia College.

More fun with Dad.

First walking the puppies at the marina in Kalama.

Then off to Mt. St. Helens and Coldwater Lake.

My car started misfiring. The next day we got a rental and took the car to Longview Auto and Tire. Turns out it was a loose wire connecting to one of the spark plugs,

Fixed for free!!

Returned the rental the next day.

Fun times!

Music Monday is skipped this week because my Dad is visiting!

A variety of recent pictures here. Two dog walks, one on the 24th, the day before Dad arrived, the other on the 23rd, two days before Dad Day.

Some gaming with friends, also on the 24th. Just one picture of the Samurai Swords game.

And then, the Gordon House designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in Silverton, OR at the Oregon Garden and following that tour a cemetery and "burying" church we found along the way.
