A Sense of Doubt blog post #4067 - MICHIGAN PLAYS IN NCAA FINALS TONIGHT - not Music Monday - 2604.06
Not Music Monday because it's the finals tonight.
So two t-shirts blog reprints.
And funny that one of these was originally published the night when the Wolverines were in the NCAA finals in 2013. They have been back one more time since in 2018.
I picked Michigan to win the NCAA this year, so GO BLUE!!!!
Michigan is playing in the 2026 NCAA Men's Basketball National Championship game against UConn on April 6, 2026, after defeating Arizona 91-73 in the Final Four. Prior to this, the Wolverines last appeared in the NCAA title game in 2018, where they lost to Villanova. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Key Recent NCAA Championship Appearances:
- 2026: vs. UConn (Current Tournament)
- 2018: Lost to Villanova (79-62)
- 2013: Lost to Louisville (82-76)
- 1993: Lost to North Carolina (77-71)
- 1992: Lost to Duke (71-51)
- 1989: Defeated Seton Hall (80-79, OT) - Last Championship Win [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

T-shirt #8: University of Michigan: I love Dri-Fit!
Dri-Fit shirts with moisture wicking properties are one of the best inventions of the late 20th century. Moisture wicking fabrics have been a revelation to me. I recommend very highly products made from these fabrics. They do "smell funny" to those with sensitive noses, but the properties allowing for perspiration moisture to be wicked away from the body to evaporate from the surface of the garment rather than being trapped between the body and the fabric or in the fibers of the garment itself allows for such comfort in the heat that I wear them year around (I am almost always hot), though most often in the summer.
When I saw a Dri-Fit University of Michigan logo shirt, I had to have it. I bought this shirt last week after starting this blog and after UofM won it's second round NCAA game to enter the Sweet Sixteen.
Big game tonight against the Kansas Jayhawks.
GO BLUE!!

T-shirt #18: GO BLUE!!!! Good luck to Michigan in the NCAA Finals
This should be my 1989 Finals shirt.I do have a shirt commemorating the last Michigan NCAA win from 1989, beating Seton Hall.
But I do not know where it is.
This is one the reasons why I think I might have 365 T-shirts.
In fact, recently, I purged a bunch of T-shirts, so I may have had over 365 and depleted my collection. I am concerned that the 1989 Finals shirt was purged in a bin I did not sort too thoroughly. After all, the shirt is 24 years old. These shirts do not last forever.
I remember watching the Finals in 1989. I was two years into graduate school and grading a set of papers. I flung the papers around the room when the Wolverines won. Yay!! It's one of my clearest memories of enjoying a sporting event. Though the students being graded may not have appreciated their papers being used as impromptu confetti.
I hesitate to crow too much about Michigan's chance of success. More often than not when I brag, crow, or cheer for a team BEFORE it wins its game that team loses. I jinxed the Tigers yesterday. And I jinxed the Lions almost every week in 2012 season.
And yet, I feel pretty good about Michigan's chances tonight.
GO BLUE!!

Publishing this at the time of Dad's death because it's about Michigan.
Weird time coincidence below.
- Days ago: MOM = 3931 days ago & DAD = 585 days ago
- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I post Hey Mom blog entries on special occasions. I post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day, and now I have a second count for Days since my Dad died on August 28, 2024. I am now in the same time zone as Google! So, when I post at 10:10 a.m. PDT to coincide with the time of Mom's death, I am now actually posting late, so it's really 1:10 p.m. EDT. But I will continue to use the time stamp of 10:10 a.m. to remember the time of her death and sometimes 13:40 EDT for the time of Dad's death. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.

Yesterday, the Cubs game were both scheduled for the times of my Mom's and my Dad's deaths, which caught my attention.
