Hey, Mom! Talking to My Mother #952 - No Title - Musical Monday for 1802.12

Hi Mom,

There's no theme here.

This entry provided a dumping ground for things I listened to this week. For instance, I discovered not only had I bought a CD of the wrong Bjork album recently, but I hadn't even listened to Utopia all the way through.

Bjork does so many interesting things.

I found another Sevdaliza track I had not shared, more ambient via Bandcamp, and various other things. Carbon Based Life Forms is a band that I am paying more attention to, and I was pleased to find that someone collected all the Massive Attack tracks featuring female vocals in a You Tube mix. Also, I had a phase of listening to some HOOVERPHONIC and realizing that there are some albums I missed, which may be featured in future weeks.

Expect less original content when I post two days late... :-)

Snowbird are the duo of singer/songwriter Stephanie Dosen and Cocteau Twins' Simon Raymonde. Their debut album moon is out February 4 via Raymonde's label Bella Union. Following "Porcelain", check out album cut "All Wishes Are Ghosts" above.
As previously reported, the album features contributions from Radiohead's Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway, Midlake's Eric Pulido and McKenzie Smith, Lanterns on the Lake's Paul Gregory, and Jonathan Wilson.
In a press release, Raymonde said of the band, "It would be a little odd if it didn’t remind people of Cocteau Twins."

NEW (written 1708.27) NOTE on time: I am now in the same time zone as Google! So, when I post at 10:10 a.m. PDT to coincide with the time of your death, Mom, I am now actually posting late, so it's really 1:10 p.m. EDT. But I will continue to use the time stamp of 10:10 a.m. to remember the time of your death, Mom. I know this only matters to me, and to you, Mom.
