A Sense of Doubt blog post #2941 - "Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)" - Marvin Gaye - Music Week 2023 #01

A Sense of Doubt blog post #2941 - "Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler)" - Marvin Gaye - Music Week 2023 #01

We were all cheated when Marvin Gaye was killed by his father in 1984 at the age of 44.

And so for my "first" song of MUSIC WEEK 2023 (which will be over a dozen posts and "first" because yesterday's was #00 and Monday's was the usual Music Monday post), I am going with the last track off what ROLLING STONE considers the greatest album ever made.

I wrote about the album here:

A Sense of Doubt blog post #2302 - What's Going On? Marvin Gaye - Musical Monday for 2106.07

Fantastic album and fantastic song!

The man has his own forever stamp!

And many think so.

He was  the man that became the first star in the history of Motown to break away from that label’s formula for producing music and took the reins himself and controlled all aspects of production, from concept to engineering. And in the process he paved the way for people like Stevie to do the same.

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
