A Sense of Doubt blog post #3542 - HORRID HUMAN: Last Night on CNN with Abby Phillip

A Sense of Doubt blog post #3542 - HORRID HUMAN: Last Night on CNN with Abby Phillip

Why do you think I started a blog category five years ago called "STATE OF THE HATE NATION"?

For this record, my blog record, I have thought Ryan Girdusky was a fucking asshole for quite a while now. They have had him on air before at CNN, and he conducts himself like a clickbait-driven, disinformation Maniac. He lies. He is belligerent. And his arguments are often deeply stupid. But what makes him an asshole is how he treats others. This incident may be the worst, but it was a long time coming after all the other shit-shoveling, disrespect, and hatefulness he's put on display on national TV.

Before he said that deeply racist and hateful thing to Mehdi Hasan, he insisted that THE MEDIA (I guess all of them) claimed that EVERYONE at Trump's MSG rally Sunday night was literally a Nazi.

Not only is that false, but it's just a stupid thing to say because it's so easy to disprove.

But the whole night, Monday, last night, on CNN was a parade of apologists for Trump and his racist, misogynist, xenophobic rally. Most of these Republican shills and sycophants know how horrid the comments made at the rally were and are just too gutless to call it out on national television as they feel it will sink their future chances with the GOP of hate, division, and racism. That's what is so maddening.

Haters gonna hate.

I don't respect the haters, but at least they are honest about their hate.

Gutless cowards like Chris Sununu, who appeared on Caitlin Collins' show, even when pressed by S.E, Cupp, would not state categorically and with emphasis that the hate speech, violent threats, and authoritarian messages at Trump's rally are garbage, do not reflect REAL AMERICAN values, and should be severely condemned.

Instead he deflected and tried to reframe it all.

Just like JD Vance has to do every day.

Just like Scott Jennings did a month or so ago when he refused to answer a direct question from someone else at the table to call out racist dogma as racist dogma. He just refused to answer, which is slightly better than deflecting and apologizing. I believe it was over Trump's claim that Harris "became black."

But last night, Ryan Girdusky really showed what a hateful asshole he is and many of these GOP toadies are. He's also a Zionist, the ideology for committing genocide against the Palestinian people. See the clips below.

What baffles me is how this kind of horrid behavior does not disqualify all these assholes from politics, especially Trump.

Is America filled with that much hate that this out-front, undisguised, vicious, violent hate is something that can be over-looked to still vote for Trump and his ilk?

Sickening.

CNN bans conservative commentator Ryan Girdusky after racist on-air remark

Girdusky "will not be welcomed back" at the network following an incendiary remark made toward Mehdi Hasan after the latter expressed support for Palestinians.

CNN has banned conservative commentator Ryan Girdusky from the network after he made a racist on-air remark toward fellow guest Mehdi Hasan.

On Monday's episode of CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip, Girdusky and Hasan sparred over the rhetoric used during Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden, where comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a "floating island of garbage."

The discussion took an adverse turn after Hasan noted that he is in support of the Palestinians. In response, Girdusky told Hasan "I hope your beeper doesn't go off," referencing recent reports that Israel concealed explosives inside pagers to target Hezbollah members in Lebanon.

A stunned Hasan, a Muslim journalist who founded the media company Zeteo, replied, "Did you just say I should die? Did you just say I should be killed on live TV?"

Girdusky backtracked, and Phillip tried to contain the situation, telling Girdusky that his remark was "completely out of pocket."

In response to the segment, CNN issued a statement stating that Girdusky "will not be welcomed back at our network." And, "There is zero room for racism or bigotry at CNN on our air," the statement read. "We aim to foster thoughtful conversations and debate including between people who profoundly disagree with each other in order to explore important issues and promote mutual understanding. But we will not allow guests to be demeaned or for the line of civility to be crossed."

Phillip also issued an apology to viewers after a commercial break following the segment, disclosing that Girdusky had been asked to leave. "I want to apologize to Mehdi Hasan for what was said at this table. It was completely unacceptable," said Phillip. "When we get this discussion started, you'll see that Ryan is not at the table. There is a line that was crossed there, and it's not acceptable to me, it's not acceptable to us at this network."

Girdusky, for his part, has since hit back at the network, claiming that it was a "joke." He wrote on social media after the segment, "You can stay on CNN if you falsely call every Republican a Nazi and have taken money from Qatar-funded media. Apparently you can't go on CNN if you make a joke. I'm glad America gets to see what CNN stands for."

- Days ago: MOM = 3406 days ago & DAD = 062 days ago

- New note started on 2410.28 - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I post Hey Mom blog entries on special occasions. I post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day, and now I have a second count for Days since my Dad died on August 28, 2024. I am now in the same time zone as Google! So, when I post at 10:10 a.m. PDT to coincide with the time of Mom's death, I am now actually posting late, so it's really 1:10 p.m. EDT. But I will continue to use the time stamp of 10:10 a.m. to remember the time of her death and sometimes 13:40 EDT for the time of Dad's death. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
