Hello from out here on the Thames Delta,
where I'm pretty sure I'm coming down
with something, which is my own fault for
being around other human beings on Thursday,
I suppose. You people are disgusting,
with your breathing and your skin and your diseases.
Today might be low power.

Please don't unsubscribe just because you put your disease in me.
This week's email is called Spectral Rehab -
which is also the name I gave to John Twells'
monthly DJ night in Boston, years ago.  (FB page)
Sometimes I name stuff for people.
Another thing I named is Deb Chachra's
METAFOUNDRY, which was a print
object and is now a fine newsletter
It's been a busy week out here,
and I have to find the strength to finish three
more jobs before I can let myself give
in to The Black Plague or whatever it was I caught this time.
Also, of course, I need to quit reading the news.
I really should have finished a thing last night,
but I don't think anyone can blame me for following
Saturday's stories. To my current knowledge, only
friends of friends have been directly affected on the
ground so far, but that seems like it may change soon.
Spent a lot of time in direct messages with friends
(as previous readers will know, I'm not using social media these days).
This is going to be another quick one,
this week, because I'm fading fast,
and I absolutely have to hammer
the nails into two scripts before I pass out.

Hi Mom,

I have really been loving the playlists I assemble here. Last week's by Kieron Gillen has been my play list for the last two weeks (one week prepping and one week since).

This one many be the playlist for the coming week as it's where I dumped all the content I wanted to listen to but was not listening to the last two weeks.

First, there are some great tracks from the new movie The Girl With All the Gifts, which is excellent.

I follow that with some interesting things, some of which were recommended by Warren Ellis in his email newsletter from which I cribbed the title of this entry (and gave due credit by reprinting his explanation and the rest of his diatribe from the week before last).

I sent him an email telling him about an ambient music podcast I found and he wrote back.

That's a high point.

But some of the music following these words I came across myself while on Bandcamp. then there's two long mixes that came up on You Tube and I liked them. I especially like the Armenian one.

Ghost Cop may be my favorite on this page, but I did buy the Scott Tuma.

Other than that I am alternating between Calculus and grading. Such is my life.

Ellory had her first day ALONE at Camp Fido, after her first ever day (with Satchel) last Thursday. She is very tired.

Onward...

Remember to hold hands at all times.

And I love you.

Reflect and connect.

Have someone give you a kiss, and tell you that I love you.

I miss you so very much, Mom.

Talk to you tomorrow, Mom.

NOTE on time: When I post late, I had been posting at 7:10 a.m. because Google is on Pacific Time, and so this is really 10:10 EDT. However, it still shows up on the blog in Pacific time. So, I am going to start posting at 10:10 a.m. Pacific time, intending this to be 10:10 Eastern time. I know this only matters to me, and to you, Mom. But I am not going back and changing all the 7:10 a.m. times. But I will run this note for a while. Mom, you know that I am posting at 10:10 a.m. often because this is the time of your death.
