Hey, Mom! Talking to My Mother #251 - I am ill

Hi Mom,

I am ill. Some plague from the planet formerly know as Pluto or as a extrusion of dark matter and bile has seized me into its tepid jaws. I am writing this from the future, so I can report that after doing the minimum work necessary for the day, Monday, I took the couch and slept an extended amount of time and still then slept for ten some hours at night. It's Tuesday as I write, and I am still feeling the malaise and plan more rest today.

But no, I am not in the hospital. These pictures are from Friday, August 16th, 2013, the day I had my prostate surgically removed because it was infected with cancer. This also happened to be the day of your 55th wedding anniversary, Mom, and the day before Liesel's birthday.

It was my plan to re-read Kingdom Come and Marvels, which you can see on my bed side table. I thought recovery from surgery would be like a vacation, but it was a drug-addled and painful one.

Good pictures of us, Mom, especially you, as you just came from the salon.

I don't think I have shared these photos ever, publicly.

Back to recuperating.

Reflect and connect.

Have someone give you a kiss, and tell you that I love you.

Talk to you tomorrow, Mom.

NOTE on time: When I post late, I had been posting at 7:10 a.m. because Google is on Pacific Time, and so this is really 10:10 EDT. However, it still shows up on the blog in Pacific time. So, I am going to start posting at 10:10 a.m. Pacific time, intending this to be 10:10 Eastern time. I know this only matters to me, and to you, Mom. But I am not going back and changing all the 7:10 a.m. times. But I will run this note for a while. Mom, you know that I am posting at 10:10 a.m. often because this is the time of your death.
