A Sense of Doubt blog post #2754 - Writer's Retreat Day Three: Coffee Shop Writing and Steak

On Day Three, I decided to get out for breakfast and then go to a coffee spot I had scoped out the day before.

I started with breakfast at at Kristina's. Good place. Check out that long counter and the huge kitchen area behind it! Two regulars in the foreground talking over the world and all its complexities.

Then I ventured down to the Old Town Coffee Shop that I had spotted the day before and did some writing. Very cool place, but their WiFi is all Effed up so I did not stay as long as I had planned. But I loved the place. However, with the sushi place on the water... maybe that's a better place to camp out to write. There's also a place on the harbor on one of the islands off Eureka Coast that might work.

Later in the day, after returning to my studio apartment for a while, I headed over to the waterfront and a place named Shamus T Bone and had a Porterhouse steak and a Caesar Salad. I couldn't finish the steak and took it home and had it as dinner the next day, so that's a financial win!

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
