I wish I could still talk to my parents on the phone.
Today I started my internship for my counseling degree.
It was a good day (I am writing this post the next day).
I am very blessed and fortunate in so many ways. Very grateful for my life and everyone in it.
This song by Paul Weller made me cry when I saw it live two years ago shortly after Dad died.
It still gets me.

I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

A Sense of Doubt blog post #3506 - "Soul Wandering" - Paul Weller - Music Monday 2409.23
I overestimated how much time I would have.
I overestimated how much time I would have.
What was I thinking?
Today is the first day of school, and I have been slammed with prep.
I am not ready to render a "full report," as requested by one reader on the Paul Weller concert I saw last week.
But I think I can get it done by this weekend.
So, here's one of the songs from the new album that has really gotten inside of me.

It resonates a lot with my emotional landscape right now, what happened with my Dad.
I find meaning here, great meaning.
Thanks for tuning in.

COUNTDOWN!!!
Soul Wandering
Song by Paul Weller
I prayed today that you would stay right here with me
I wear a cross for superstitious remedies
Soul wandering
Mm-mm
Each day I wake and try to shake these chains from me
They weigh me down in mental quicksand, shimmering
Soul wandering
Still searching
And I want to believe
In something greater than me
And I'm humbled by the majesty of the sea
And the stars and your love
Soul wandering
Still searching
Soul wandering
Still searching
Oh, and I want to believe
In something greater than me
And I'm humbled by the majesty of the sea
And the stars and your love

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I post Hey Mom blog entries on special occasions. I post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day, and now I have a second count for Days since my Dad died on August 28, 2024. I am now in the same time zone as Google! So, when I post at 10:10 a.m. PDT to coincide with the time of Mom's death, I am now actually posting late, so it's really 1:10 p.m. EDT. But I will continue to use the time stamp of 10:10 a.m. to remember the time of her death and sometimes 13:40 EDT for the time of Dad's death.
