A Sense of Doubt blog post #3295 - Favorite Comic Book Splash Pages - Comic Book Sunday for 2404.25

A Sense of Doubt blog post #3295 - Favorite Comic Book Splash Pages - Comic Book Sunday for 2404.25

Welcome to Comic Book Sunday for February 25th, 2024.

Today is a post many weeks in the making of some of the greatest "splash" pages in the history of comic books.

What I have here is many from a Twitter thread, then some of mine, then a top 20 from Ranker (with two repeats of ones I already shared), and then a bunch from the link below, Classic Comics dot org.

I have a few notes on the artists but not on all of them. Guessing game!!

Possibly the one above by Neal Adams from Avengers #95.

Gorgeous light in the shadows. Triton splash in Avengers #95. “Something Inhuman This Way Comes!” Neal Adams, Tom Palmer. January 1972.

Thanks for tuning in!!

MANY TO BE FOUND HERE:

TOP 20 SPLASH PAGES

These are printed in reverse order.

Then a whole comic forum of over 100 web pages filled with examples. I took most off the first page and a few off the second. I see this as a thread that will keep on giving.

These are also printed in reverse order, though they were not ranked. I just liked the order.

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
