A Sense of Doubt blog post #2152 - Welcome to Trump's America - Insurrection 2021 - January 6th - Day of Shame
I have been working on posts, such as Election Fraud Really Happened: in 2016, Trumpism is a Virus, and Fox News is Not News, but I have not finished writing them yet.
I would like to write a longer blog entry about the insurrection of Wednesday, January 6th, 2021 when Trump incited his supporters to storm the Capital Building.
Terrorists.
Criminals.
Sedition.
Treason.
UnAmerican.
Unpatriotic.
Appalling.
Despicable.
More soon. But for now, tour these images and the Twitter activity I have shared since Wednesday, which also includes many David Bowie posts as it's his 74th birthday today. Happy Birthday Mr. Bowie. Glad you are not here to see this disgusting display.

Congratulations to our next U.S. Senator, @ReverendWarnock. Last January, I endorsed my dear friend in his quest to serve. Soon, he will walk those august halls & cast votes as a leader with courage, justice and integrity.

Welcome to Trump's America. Perhaps this "republican led" area should be designated an "anarchist district." Open revolt. Shameful. Disgusting. Treason. Sedition. UNAMERICAN. https://t.co/idCbuE2WYs

RETWEET if you agree that, based upon Donald Trump's incitement of violent sedition, one of the following three things must happen in the next 24 hours:
— Seth Abramson (@SethAbramson) January 6, 2021
1️⃣ Resignation
2️⃣ 25th Amendment
3️⃣ Impeachment
Trump has given us no choice. The 25th Amendment must be invoked NOW. We need to immediately wrest control of the country from him. He is not the commander of chief of the US. He is commander of chief of the Trump mob & proud boys. @VP Pence must step up & defend our democracy.
— Jackie Speier (@RepSpeier) January 6, 2021
Impeachment or 25th amendment. Either is fine. Must happen now. Trump shouldn't be in office another day.
— Robert Reich (@RBReich) January 6, 2021
If Republican leadership doesn't go to the White House tonight and make this traitor resign, they are equally treasonous.

TWITTER LOCKED TRUMP'S ACCOUNT...
— 🌖Lady Karma🌒 (@LA_Karma1) January 7, 2021
Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube have all removed President Trump's video calling for peace and telling the protesters to go home.

Twitter initially blocked replies and "likes" but followed Facebook and YouTube's actions, completely removing (censoring) it. pic.twitter.com/7x9rYQvqxA
Twitter finally blocked Trump. It took actual domestic terrorism and incitement to violence and an attempted coup, but they finally blocked him. pic.twitter.com/6RrX0uBteL

Impeach.
— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) January 7, 2021
And REMOVE!
— Francesco Francavilla (@f_francavilla) January 7, 2021
25th amendment, impeachment, and/or resignation NOW! As the occupier in chief keeps saying, reps and senators need to have courage. Have courage. End the nightmare. Twitter blocked him. The country needs to end his lunacy as well. #25thAmendmentNow #ImpeachTrumpAgainNOW

Sarah Palin, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity -- the rightwing machine is getting busy claiming rioters were antifa in disguise. This isn't just saving face -- it's reichstagging, setting up a rationale for martial law.
— Jeff Sharlet (@JeffSharlet) January 7, 2021
This has been a hard enough day-no one needs to hear anything from Sarah Palin right now.
— Amee Vanderpool (@girlsreallyrule) January 7, 2021

Cruz, Hawley and Kennedy are not fit to serve. They should be expelled or at least censured and thrown off committees. Then they must be primaried.

Six Senators voted to sustain the objection to Arizona's election results, despite an attempted armed coup of our Capitol today. Know their names:

Cruz, Hawley, Hyde-Smith, Marshall, Tuberville and Kennedy
On the matter of the objection to the AZ vote count, the following six United States Senators and Senators-elect supported the Trump led coup attempt:

Ted Cruz (TX)
Josh Hawley (MO)
John Kennedy (LA)

White House officials were shaken by Trump's reaction to a mob of his supporters descending on the Capitol today. He was described to me as borderline enthusiastic because it meant the certification was being derailed. It has genuinely freaked people out.

You can attack and vandalize the capitol of the United States and the Capitol Police will:
-Escort you inside
-Take selfies with you inside
-Escort you back outside
-Let you walk away without arrest
The irony of this is that it was the Proud Boys leader who encouraged members to dress in all black so they could blend in with antifa https://t.co/pqfA4YYElB

In retrospect, it was insulting to a great many cartoon characters.
Capitol police CAN & DO arrest protestors who breach security at the Capitol. I know, I've been there. Plenty of times. When they know we're coming, they PREPARE for us and PLAN to arrest us. They even prep their zipties in advance. Don't tell me they weren't prepared for today. pic.twitter.com/hvYpxTgbtC

This is not just on Donald Trump. This shameful moment has been decades in the making. This is on Rupert Murdoch. This is on Rush Limbaugh. This is on Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and Alex Jones. The Kochs, Karl Rove, the whoe Republican Party and the NRA. You reap what you sow.
— David Slack (@slack2thefuture) January 6, 2021
Tucker Carlson and the rest of his Faux News cohorts are just as responsible, if not more so, than trump for helping to stoke seditious violence in our nation.

I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
