Hey, Mom! Talking to My Mother #1224 (SoD #2295) - MEMORIAL DAY 2021

Hi Mom, 

I think about you a lot this month. First, there's Mother's Day, which is a time for reflection and love. And then there's Memorial Day, which was always one of your favorite days, so much time spent in cemeteries in and around your home, decorating graves, visiting with your Dad.

I have learned to live with you being gone, but I am not going to forget you.

I do want to apologize if I was ever a spoiled and petulant child who did not enjoy going to six cemeteries even though I had plenty to read and to do in the car with me and a super comfy little nest. I wish I had the maturity to better appreciate you, Dad, and your side of the family all those years.

However, despite all of that, I liked the cookouts we had in later years much more as seen in the below reprint and photos and the link to the cookout we had the year after you passed away in 2016.

I love you, Mom.

NEW (written 1708.27 and 1907.04) NOTE on time: I am now in the same time zone as Google! So, when I post at 10:10 a.m. PDT to coincide with the time of your death, Mom, I am now actually posting late, so it's really 1:10 p.m. EDT. But I will continue to use the time stamp of 10:10 a.m. to remember the time of your death, Mom. I know this only matters to me, and to you, Mom.
