A Sense of Doubt blog post #2351 - Please, Have some Japanese Breakfast - Musical Monday for 2107.26

A Sense of Doubt blog post #2351 - Please, Have some Japanese Breakfast - Musical Monday for 2107.26

As I described yesterday on this blog, I just finished reading Michelle Zauner's gorgeous, artful, and heart-wrenching Crying in H Mart, which is also edifying, inspiring, and revealing.

And so today is a collection of songs and interviews of Michelle Zauner and Japanese Breakfast.

That is all.

Enjoy.

Japanese Breakfast Reveals Her Hometown Hero | HI-FIVES | Vinyl Me, Please
Apr 17, 2019

Vinyl Me, Please

In 'Soft Sounds' — part concept album, part personal catalogue — Michelle Zauner creates a parallel between the sci-fi notion of exploring another planet and the deeply intimate process of exploring new emotional terrain. It’s abstract and metaphorical, in a way, but remains the antithesis of pretension. Her ability to take innovative concept — both lyrical and audible — and make it approachable makes the album intriguing whether it’s your first listen or your 200th. It’s a master blend of synth, her signature shoegaze, adventurous soundscape crafting, and hints of ‘80s-esques grandeur that buttresses a literary take on everything to road head to unconditional love.

Japanese Breakfast - Be Sweet (Official Video)

Premiered Mar 2, 2021
#JapaneseBreakfast #BeSweet #Jubilee

"Be Sweet" the new song by Japanese Breakfast from 'Jubilee', out June 4th on Dead Oceans.

Lyrics:
Tell the men I’m coming
Tell them count the days
I can feel the night passing by like a mistake waiting for me

Caught up in my feelings
Overthink the truth
Fantasize you’ve left me behind and I’m turned back running for you

Make it up to me you know it’s better
Make it up to me you know it’s better!

Be sweet to me baby
I want to believe in you I want to believe
Be sweet to me baby
I want to believe in you I want to believe in something

So come and get your woman
Pacify her rage
Take the time to undo your lies make it up once more with feeling

Recognize your mistakes and I’ll let you back in
Realize not too late, loved you always

Make it up to me you know it’s better
Make it up to me you know it’s better!

Be sweet to me baby
I want to believe in you I want to believe
Be sweet to me baby I want to believe in you
I want to believe in something

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
