A Sense of Doubt blog post #2598 - This is what THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS gets you - 150 body bags and counting... THAT ONE THING for 2203.30
"Fuck your thoughts and prayers; we want ACTION NOW."
This is genius!
And so this...
4 years since we marched in DC and around the world to end gun violence. 4 years of #ThoughtsAndPrayers. 4 years of broken promises. 4 years without ANY federal action on guns.

We've asked for the bare minimum. Now we're sending Congress a message they can't ignore. pic.twitter.com/fs9dOq5wSb
We were gunned down. Four years after our historic march, we still hear the same empty words, "#ThoughtsAndPrayers".

Sign our petition and reject empty words with ACTION. We can pass Universal Background Checks, a gun violence prevention measure that 90% of Americans support. pic.twitter.com/uiM7A7Gkwz

'To those politicians that think that young people are just going to keep turning out for them, honestly, I send my 'thought and prayers' to them in the next election' — March For Our Lives co-founder David Hogg had this to say to politicians 'lying' about supporting gun control pic.twitter.com/BTfzePPAOl

Nearly 200k victims later since we marched in DC. Congress still only sends thoughts and prayers.

Each body bag represents 150+ lives lost since the shooting at MSD.

Activists will use more than 1,100 body bags to spell out “THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS,” a condolence often invoked after mass shootings — and one that gun-violence-prevention activists decry as hollow, as more people continue to die. https://t.co/puZfVcKYIl

We all deserve lives free from the trauma of gun violence. We've waited long enough. It's time for lawmakers to get to work. https://t.co/yAouMKcxOd

It’s been almost 4 years since our march on the Capitol and 800+ sister marches worldwide. You showed up for us, fought with us, yelled for action, & demanded more than #ThoughtsAndPrayers.

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
