A Sense of Doubt blog post #3863 - Thela Hun Ginjeet - SoD Reprint of Hey Mom #874 - Music Monday for 2509.15

A Sense of Doubt blog post #3863 - Thela Hun Ginjeet - SoD Reprint of Hey Mom #874 - Music Monday for 2509.15

I had another post for today that I postponed, and then the reprint I chose, I also postponed.

This original post had broken videos, which I always want to fix.

And King Crimson is ruthless about taking down their content that other people have posted.

The main song video is on their channel, so it should be secure.

The live version I shared along with it has been up for two years, so it may remain. We shall see.

Both videos were posted after the original publication of this post, and I edited the original, too, because I dislike having broken videos on my blog.

FUNNY THING: I originally posted this entry in 2017, six years later I am at a (sort of) Talking Heads reunion show, meet some old school music fans, and we talk about King Crimson's Discipline, and I mention this line:

"So I unplugged my shirt"

which is the title of this original post.

Hey, Mom! Talking to My Mother #874 - "I finally unplugged my shirt" - Musical Monday 1711.27

Hi Mom,

I will always remember the joyous enthusiasm and relish with which he recited the lines:

"I finally unplugged my shirt and said, look, I am with this band..."

"Thela Hun Ginjeet"

Please enjoy "Thela Hun Ginjeet," performed by King Crimson on ABC's "Fridays." Although this clip may exist elsewhere, this is unique in that the audio is sourced from a half-track 7.5ips reel-to-reel recording made from the ABC network satellite feed.

NOTE ON 2509.17: I do not remember what this next thing was and now it's gone. But I am still leaving it here. I do remember which friend, though I am not saying. This video was poste before I was in the habit of posting links and titles and all that just in case a video is removed so I can figure out what it is.

And this, for my friend, who left this world this morning because it's beautiful.

Cryptic, yes. I hesitate to reference anything at all. I was tempted to post just the videos.

...sigh...

I waited two days to post as I struggled with learning the news of the death of a friend of mine, and even writing this now, on Wednesday, I may sleep on it before posting.

There are not a lot of options for King Crimson content on You Tube. It's a thing I guess. Certain bands protect their material and that makes sense. But it does interfere with my ability to post the content.

Reflect and connect.
Have someone give you a kiss, and tell you that I love you, Mom.
I miss you so very much, Mom.
Talk to you tomorrow, Mom.

NEW (written 1708.27) NOTE on time: I am now in the same time zone as Google! So, when I post at 10:10 a.m. PDT to coincide with the time of your death, Mom, I am now actually posting late, so it's really 1:10 p.m. EDT. But I will continue to use the time stamp of 10:10 a.m. to remember the time of your death, Mom. I know this only matters to me, and to you, Mom.

- Days ago: MOM = 3729 days ago & DAD = 382 days ago

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I post Hey Mom blog entries on special occasions. I post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day, and now I have a second count for Days since my Dad died on August 28, 2024. I am now in the same time zone as Google! So, when I post at 10:10 a.m. PDT to coincide with the time of Mom's death, I am now actually posting late, so it's really 1:10 p.m. EDT. But I will continue to use the time stamp of 10:10 a.m. to remember the time of her death and sometimes 13:40 EDT for the time of Dad's death. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
