Hey, Mom! Talking to My Mother #1078 - The Black Walls Are Closing In - Musical Monday for 1806.18

Hi Mom,

This is one of my most random mixes.

It was not entirely made with YOU TUBE suggestions. It's an ecclectic mix of themes with an emphasis on women vocalists, often by "look," which is the only reason I have a song by Pale Waves, which is not really my taste but I love the look of the lead singer.

There's an emphasis in this mix on the Chromatics, an Italian band featured in the new Twin Peaks reboot.

Because I started with the Chromatics, somewhat, there's an emphasis on women performers or bands with women leads, though this was not a strict rule.

This mix was made while watching news coverage of the appalling and detestable action by the U.S. government to separate families at the Mexican border, tearing children from their mothers, over 2000 children in captivity as a way to leverage "policy" and create isolationist change to fuel corporate greed agendas. It's sickening.

Though somewhat influenced by the news, the musical content does not speak to the situation in all cases and was not chosen to comment directly on the disgusting news of an administration without empathy or humanity.

Enjoy if it's possible to enjoy anything as children are treated with such unfeeling, horrible disregard for basic human rights.

Its not the first time I have felt this way, but I am ashamed to be an American with each second that goes by as children are treated abominably.
