Hey, Mom! Talking to My Mother #808 - Visiting Chuck's Produce

Hey, Mom! Talking to My Mother #808 - Visiting Chuck's Produce

Hi Mom,

So, I found Chuck's Produce on 117th Street in Salmon Creek. I bought some coffee. I have been wanting some good whole bean coffee and the local Safeway does not have the best selection.

I had to run some errands yesterday.

I know, other readers, writing about the running of errands may not be a deeply meaningful exercise in introspection or the apodictic reality. And yet, in a new city, a new home, on the other side of the country from my normal world, it's a bit of an adventure and a bit of a success to find places and navigate new streets. The Google Map app on the phone has proven essential for this work. And yet, I am just happy to take some time to get out of the house as I stare down the barrel of so much work that at times I feel suffocated. Yeah, I know, that's dramatic. Certainly, those feelings are exacerbated by being in a new city and a new home.

But though readers may not find this to be the most meaningful of entries, I know you will, Mom. And hey, some readers are keeping up with my new life via this blog. Not too exciting right now, people, but at last I am being productive.

So, I had to go to two pet stores, Lowe's, and some kind of grocery, mainly for coffee. I just happened to come across Chuck's. I wasn't seeking it. I did not know it existed. Serendipity. There's two words of the day for the amusement of any former WMU students who may click open this link out of curiosity (apodictic and serendipity).

Doesn't this store look great?

You would love this place, Mom.

I am having fun exploring places in my new home.

Oh, and Keith's dog has arrived, Rocko, who likes my office. He's a very sweet dog.

Reflect and connect.

Have someone give you a kiss, and tell you that I love you, Mom.

I miss you so very much, Mom.

Talk to you tomorrow, Mom.

NEW (written 1708.27) NOTE on time: I am now in the same time zone as Google! So, when I post at 10:10 a.m. PDT to coincide with the time of your death, Mom, I am now actually posting late, so it's really 1:10 p.m. EDT. But I will continue to use the time stamp of 10:10 a.m. to remember the time of your death, Mom. I know this only matters to me, and to you, Mom.
