Hey, Mom! Talking to My Mother #999 - "Honest" Trailers - Star Trek, STNG, The Last Jedi, and Wonder Woman
Hi Mom,
It seems to me that these videos are a worthy item for post #999, which seems like a special number if only because it is the penultimate post to number one thousand.
One of my students just recommended these "honest" trailers, specifically the one for STNG, which I found to be very funny. In fact, I found it so funny that I am sharing three other "honest" trailer videos for Star Trek: Into Darkness, Wonder Woman, and Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
If these trailers tell us nothing else it's that nerds and geeks (a distinction much like the splitting of hairs) have taken over the Internet and actually have such a dominant voice that often "THE" opinion of a film or some pop culture phenomenon is dictated by the prevailing way the nerd/geek wind is blowing, a decidedly white male wind, which is not always diversity friendly. Hence the photo cover of the Star Trek: Into Darkness, featuring a mostly disrobed Alice Eve, who plays Carol Marcus in the film. Despite the sexist joke made in that case, I found the videos mostly free of such bigoted humor and worth some time in watching them.
If you follow my blog, if I am in the news reader, I hope to provide a variety of things to read or view, so this is a good change of pace from yesterday's huge trip report.
Enjoy.

Reflect and connect.
Have someone give you a kiss, and tell you that I love you, Mom.
I miss you so very much, Mom.
Talk to you tomorrow, Mom.

NEW (written 1708.27) NOTE on time: I am now in the same time zone as Google! So, when I post at 10:10 a.m. PDT to coincide with the time of your death, Mom, I am now actually posting late, so it's really 1:10 p.m. EDT. But I will continue to use the time stamp of 10:10 a.m. to remember the time of your death, Mom. I know this only matters to me, and to you, Mom.
Though the current project started as a series of posts charting my grief journey after the death of my mother, I am no longer actively grieving. Now, the blog charts a conversation in living, mainly whatever I want it to be. This is an activity that goes well with the theme of this blog (updated 2018). The Sense of Doubt blog is dedicated to my motto: EMBRACE UNCERTAINTY. I promote questioning everything because just when I think I know something is concrete, I find out that it’s not.
Hey, Mom! The Explanation.
Here's the permanent dedicated link to my first Hey, Mom! post and the explanation of the feature it contains.
