| Cutting down the Christmas Tree 1986 |
Hi Mom,
The felling of a tree is much like the felling of a year, cut off from the minutes of its last month--as we measure time--left to drift into the past, unmoored, floating free, cradling a flickering votive in the bark of its hours, creeping day-by-day ever closer to the horizon and the vanishing point. And yet, it never reaches that vanishing point, as in memory, it's all a matter of perspective.
Today is the first day of 2016. I could have launched a whole new year thing, and I do have some more year in review posts to share, but I am going with a photo collage today.
Though I am sure there are other photos of cutting down the Christmas tree, here are several plus some extra Christmas tree photos of decorated trees and activity about trees along with our tree here at St. Antoine this year, which is a DARTH VADER tree.
