A Sense of Doubt blog post #2942 - "I Might Be Wrong" - Radiohead - Music Week 2023 #02
These music posts were meant to be a way to do quick posts in an effort to catch up.
So, "I Might Be Wrong" is meaningful in that these music posts are taking longer than I believed they would when I decided to use the series to catch up.
Thanks for tuning in.
"I Might Be Wrong" - Radiohead - Wiki
I Might Be Wrong Lyrics
I might be wrong, I might be wrong
I could have sworn I saw a light coming on
I used to think, I used to think
There was no future left at all
I used to think
[Pre-Chorus]
Open up, begin again
[Chorus]
Let's go down the waterfall
Think about the good times and never look back
Never look back
[Verse 2]
What would I do? What would I do?
If I did not have you?
[Pre-Chorus]
Open up and let me in
[Chorus]
Let's go down the waterfall
Have ourselves a good time, it's nothing at all
It's nothing at all, nothing at all
[Outro]
Keep it moving
Keep it moving
Although the album version is heavily produced by Nigel Godrich and Radiohead, with a more electronic texture, I Might Be Wrong is one of the more guitar-oriented songs on Amnesiac. The song uses a blues riff written by Jonny Greenwood, in Drop D tuning. The guitar riff has a repetitive and looping quality, partly the result of the slides to reach some notes and the pull-offs.
The title “I might be wrong” may be taken from infamous quote by Bertrand Russell:
I would never die for my beliefs because I might be wrong.
It perfectly fits into the next line “I used to think there was no future left at all”. This Apocalyptic view is also conveying a metaphoric view to our beliefs as drops of water, as they makes us wet and then they just vanish like they have never existed.

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
