A Sense of Doubt blog post #1380 - Please Help! Donate to Our Whiskey GoFundMe

Will you help?

We're having somewhat of an emergency in the Tower home in that these bottles of delicious Traverse City Whiskey are empty. The cherry edition is especially delightful and serves well in a mixed drink with Vernor's, which is also not plentiful in the PACNW groceries. The whiskey may have been consumed in the natural order of boozing or by a pack of rabid dogs that tore through the neighborhood earlier this year. Either way, we're out, and the nearest retailer selling it is 2273 miles away, and so you see our dilemma.

Now, this whiskey is not just any whiskey. It helps us do the good work for which we’re well known. In addition to the molding of the young minds of first year college students -- an experience many of us have shared -- we also write a daily blog that contains NO AD CONTENT. That's just free for you all to read and enjoy as our way of giving back to the universe.

And so, if you feel like supporting this good work that we do, and if you are feeling in the charitable spirit as the traditional gift-frenzied holidays approach, we have set up a GO FUND ME for you to donate to help to replenish our desperately needed supplies of Traverse City Whiskey.

Also, there are tier levels of funding support. For the people who are able to give in the upper tiers, they will earn special rewards, such as a post devoted solely to them on the Sense of Doubt blog, our Christmas ornaments with broken arms or missing feet, or other fun swag from our home, such as Ellory’s old dog tag with a phone number that is now out of service.

If I don’t reach my funding goal by January, I will shut off our Facebook wall and ask for donations to our funding project instead of Birthday wishes, trading out the one chance many of us have to interact each year for supporting a worthy charitable cause instead. We are all right with the scotch, for now, but the special cask edition of Glen Turret Ewan McGregor small batch whisky is dangerously low, so there may be another funding option later in 2019.

Please help. We need our whiskey. We cannot do our work without it!! You can make a difference! Be the change you want see.

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
