A Sense of Doubt blog post #1285 - Ursula K Le Guin Tribute

I needed a quickie today.

I had not written much about attending the LeGuin tribute back in June. It's one of the coolest things I have done since moving here.

The speakers were all wonderful. Turns out, I liked best the former student of Ursula's: Molly Gloss.
Though Wildah Imarisha was a highlight.

I went to hear Margaret Atwood's video tribute more than anything, and I loved it.

The tribute evening ended with a Chinese dragon processional. It paraded down to the stage and out of the auditorium and up a nearby street.

I hope all of that is captured in this video.

I felt more like I was part of a community than ever before since I moved here at this event.

- New note - On 1807.06, I ceased daily transmission of my Hey Mom feature after three years of daily conversations. I plan to continue Hey Mom posts at least twice per week but will continue to post the days since ("Days Ago") count on my blog each day. The blog entry numbering in the title has changed to reflect total Sense of Doubt posts since I began the blog on 0705.04, which include Hey Mom posts, Daily Bowie posts, and Sense of Doubt posts. Hey Mom posts will still be numbered sequentially. New Hey Mom posts will use the same format as all the other Hey Mom posts; all other posts will feature this format seen here.
