The Daily Bowie #27 - "Baby Universal"

The Daily Bowie #27 - "Baby Universal"

Now that he has no sense of destination
Now he's running for the love of speed
When the child goes bad it's no cause for celebration
Like Jimmy Dean he don't talk back to me

Failures as fathers, Mothers to chaos
No baby, no baby, no baby no

I felt that Bowie's excursions into working with this band were something he needed to do. For him, it helped  him recover from Tonight and Never Let Me Down, which he has confessed are embarrassing to him. He felt he needed to produce albums at that time, and his heart was not in it.

Tin Machine helped him have fun and work with some mates and try new things. I am not crazy about the Tin Machine music, but Bowie was involved, so I own it and I won't dismiss it.

And after Tin Machine, his creative energies were rejuvenated. He produced the excellent soundtrack to The Buddha of Suburbia and then the even more excellent and ground-breaking Outside.

Hallo humans can you feel me thinking
I assume you're seeing everything I'm thinking
